The Gift Show
The Gift stage production is entering its 6th year on the Lake Eola stage. What began as a variety show featuring Christmas music has now developed into a large stage production featuring hundreds of musicians and school age children. We are excited to be working with the city of Orlando again this year to bring Orlando into the Christmas season.
The show begins after the Tree Lighting Ceremony which is scheduled to begin at 6:15pm. We have to estimate the exact start time because the tree lighting is shown live during the 6 o’clock news on WKMG. So come early and get your seats before 6pm.
The gift is presented in two parts: Act one – Trinity Lutheran School brings us a Christmas Musical that will bring us all into the Christmas spirit. Act two features a mass choir of church and volunteer choirs from all over Orlando singing traditional Christmas music from Disney’s Candlelight Processional under the direction of Derric Johnson – Emeritus conductor of the Disney show.
Act One
Trinity Lutheran School presents what is always an amazing performance that leaves you feeling great and ready to enjoy the season.
Intermission
As the stage is transitioned for Act 2, enjoy a short intermission with some fun Christmas cartoons projected on the amphitheater stage!
Act Two
The stage fills with singers from all over Orlando as they join their voices in powerful arrangements of your favorite Christmas music. This act is narrated by Jim Payne – anchor for WESH News Channel 2. We are excited to have him return to host for the 6th year. As you enjoy the wonderful music under the direction of Derric Johnson be sure to stay alert – he is known to turn around and invite the audience to join in!
